MAYSVILLE — William Robert Moran, 83, of Maysville, died Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Mr. Moran had been involved in several businesses in the area which include Bill’s Donut Shop and the Smorgasbord Restaurant. He was a longtime member of the Lawrence Creek Christian Church, a board member of the Security Bank for over forty years, a graduate of the Minerva High School and he was a veteran of the US Army.

Bill was born in Maysville on Oct. 23, 1935, the son of the late Jessie Everett Moran and Julia Peggs Moran.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Henderson Moran; four grandchildren, Clint Miley (Elizabeth), Nick Miley (Amanda), Corey Watson (Anna) and Jessica Carr; two great-grandchildren, Abby Miley and Adalynn Miley; one sister, Charlotte Kalb and three brothers, Stanley Moran, Tom Moran and Gordon Moran.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two daughters, Melissa Miley and Trish Carr; his sisters, Mary Faulkner, Virginia Willkamp and Pauline Hester; and his brothers, Allen Moran and Eugene Moran.

Services for Bill Moran will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2019, with Rev. Dale Marlow and Rev. James Rawlings officiating.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
