MAYSVILLE — Olive Jane McDonald, 97, formerly of Maysville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Cincinnati.

Mrs. McDonald was the widow of Thomas T. “Tex” McDonald, who died in 1998.

Olive was born in Newport on Dec. 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Clifford and Hazel Iliff Vance.

Her parents owned and operated Vance’s Drugstore in Maysville and in later years, Olive and Tex continued the business until their retirement. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Maysville.

Survivors include her two children, Robert Vance McDonald (Carolyn) of Richmond, Va. and Janie McDonald Herzog of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren, Thomas Vance McDonald, Elizabeth McDonald Guggenheim, Michael Thomas Brubaker, Robert Henry Herzog, Ronald Edward Herzog, Nancy Jane Herzog, Louis Herzog and Catherine Herzog and 15 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Walter Herzog.

Services for Olive Jane McDonald will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, with Rev. Terry Faris officiating.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas V. McDonald, Michael T. Brubaker, Robert H. Herzog, Ronald E. Herzog, Louis Herzog and Andrew Guggenheim. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Duncan, Raymond Herzog and Mark Neeley.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
