MOUNT OLIVET -– Steve Ray, 67, of Mount Olivet, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana.

Mr. Ray retired from the Kentucky State Highway Road department after 35 years of service as a highway technician. He served as a first responder for the Robertson County Life Squad. In his younger years we was a drummer for the local band The Drivin Winds.

Steve was an avid bass fisherman, hunter, and enjoyed golf. He recorded a hole in one on number 12 hole at Laurel Oaks. Steve was very proud of his family, especially his nephews, great nephews, and great nieces. He never met a stranger.

Born in Maysville on Feb. 23, 1952, he was the son of the late Newell Ray.

He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Garrison Selby of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister, Cindy (Sis) King (Troy) of Mount Olivet; sister-in-law, Debbie Ray of Flemingsburg; five nephews, Ryan (Tia) Henson of Alexandria, Jonathan (Hannah) Ray of Brooksville, Adam (Jana) Henson of Dover, Kyle (Gena) King of Germantown and Luke King of Mount Carmel; two great-nephews, Quinton Ray and Andrew Ray; and five great-nieces, Tenley Henson, Kate Henson, Avery Henson, Harper Ray and Claire Henson.

Visitation will be Saturday May 11 from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11 at the Robertson County Funeral Home by Bro. Harry Brooks.

Burial will be at the Wallingford Cemetery at 7071 Wallingford Road, Flemingsburg, KY. Active pallbearers will be Troy King, Ryan Henson, Jonathan Ray, Adam Henson, Kyle King, and Luke King. Honorary pallbearers will be Quinton Ray, Tenley Henson, Andrew Ray, Kate Henson, Avery Henson, Harper Ray and Claire Henson.

Memorials are suggested to the Mount Olivet Baptist Church.
