MAYSVILLE — Robert Laney passed away on Feb. 18, 2019, at the age of 81 years.
Robert was born and raised on the ridge in Louisa, which is where he met his wife Patricia.
After marriage, they decided to move west into the Maysville and Tollesboro areas and eventually settling down around West Union, Ohio. A life ling Carpenter by trade, Robert worked on many homes throughout the area for over 50 years. Robert was also an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing with his boys.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Hayes); daughter, Crystal; two sisters, Peggy Jo Proide and Kathleen Branham; two brothers, Herb and Sammy; as well as his parents, Sam and Lula Laney.
Robert’s memory will live on in his surviving children, Bobby (Carol), Donna, Gabriella (Charlie) Sapp and Gene (Tennille). He is also survived by five brothers, Jim, Mack (Frieda), Larry (Patty), Billy (Carol) and David (Barb); eight grandchildren, Heather Breeze, Zac Robinson, Travis Laney, Rachel Laney, Paige Sapp, Dustin Campbell Jordan Yoder and Wyatt Laney.
Graveside services will be held at the Laney Family Cemetery in Louisa on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at 1 p.m.
