GERMANTOWN — James “Jimmy Dale” Linville, 77, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018.
He was born on March 25, 1941, to the late Otis and Gladys White Linville.
He was a member of St. Augustine Church in Augusta and also attended St. James Minerva. He was a proud 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers as a heavy equipment operator and an active member of the Bracken County Fish and Game Club. He also loved mowing his yard, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Appelman Linville, whom he married June 18, 1966; and three daughters, Laura (Duke Smith) Linville of Cincinnati, Ellen (Phil) Wire of Fort Thomas and Molly (Dustin) Schultz of Augusta; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Lydia, Abigail, Cecilia, Ellysa, Emma and Charlie. He is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Watkins of Germantown, Joyce Tuel of Germantown and Sandy Mullikin of Brooksville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James “Jad” Linville; a daughter-in-law, Angie Linville; four brothers, Earl Linville, Samuel Linville, Bill Linville and Otis Linville Jr.; and a sister, Louise Collins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Augustine Church.
Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home in Germantown.
