MAYSVILLE – James Darrell Rosser Sr. “Jimmy”, 76, of Dover, passed away Sept. 4, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Maysville on Jan. 31, 1942, and was the son of William and Opal Moreland Rosser.

Mr. Rosser retired from Browning’s Manufacturing after 42 years, was a member of the Maysville Church of the Nazarene and attended the Lawrence Creek Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Sue Cooper Rosser; son, James Darrell Rosser Jr; daughter, Susan Lynea Rosser Cameron; son, Timothy Lynn McGowan (Crystal); granddaughter, Amy Leigh Cameron (Catarino Cantu); grandson, Caleb Matthew McGowan; sisters, Barbara Sue Faris and Linda Lou Rosser; sister-in-law, Geraldine cooper of Aberdeen, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bonnie Wallingford, Glenn Rosser, Billie Hartley, Patricia Bowkamp, Jerry Rosser, Elmer Dale “Butch” Rosser and his half-sister, Marietta Carpenter.

Services for Jimmy Rosser will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at noon Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, with Rev. Greg Rosser and Rev. Jim Rawlings officiating.

Burial will be in the Rosemont Cemetery in Dover.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
