MAYSVILLE — Stevan Michael Pollitt, age 63, passed away Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, at his residence.

Steve was a Millwright by trade and a veteran of the Marine Corps. During his enlistment he attained the rank of Sergeant and served during the Vietnam War.

He was a 10 year member of the Maysville/Washington Volunteer Fire Department, spent three days at ground zero after Sept. 11, 2001 and a member of the Marine Corps League, Bobby D. White Detachment number 953 in West Union, Ohio.

Steve was born in Fukuoka, Japan on April 18, 1955, to the late Barbee and Lucille Slawson Pollitt.

He is survived by his wife Linda Neary Pollitt, whom he married Aug. 8, 2015; his mother-in-law, June Hartlove Neary; special cousins, Jeff Wood, Barbara Norton (Lytle), Myrtle Williamson (Gary); a host of cousins in Lewis County; special friends Mandy and Sergio Furtado, Linda and Dennis LeFrancois and the entire Furtado and LeFrancois families; Jack and Michelle Hawkins; Debbie Ward, Kim and Emily Brown.

Services for Stevan Pollitt will be 1 p.m. Saturday Sept. 1, 2018, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Jack Hawkins officiating.

Burial will follow in Charter Oak Cemetery with military honors.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
