MAYSVILLE — Larry Earl Rice, age 66, of Maysville, passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Lexington.

He was born Nov. 3, 1951, in Maysville, a son of the late Earl and Martha Kathrine Wallingford Rice.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Larry was a former policeman and detective with the Maysville Police Department and a former supervisor with Black River (Carmeuse Lime and Stone). Larry’s hobbies included his cigars, gun and knife collecting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson.

He is survived by a daughter, Michelle (Darrell) Kalb of Maysville; a son, T.C. (Kasey) Rice of Maysville; his precious grandson, Noah Kaleb Kalb; two brothers, Jerry (Sherry) Rice of Maysville and John Rice of Maysville; two sisters, Teresa (Ray) McWilliams of Georgetown, Ohio, and Deeanna Rice of Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Edward Rice; and two brothers, Howard Manley Rice and Thomas Ray Rice.

Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Knox and Brothers Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Tony Liess.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Maysville Cemetery with Graveside Military Honors.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of one’s choice.
