MAYSVILLE — Robert H. Landreth, age 86, of Maysville, passed away July 15, 2018, at The Care Center at Kenton Pointe surrounded by his family.
Mr. Landreth was born April 30, 1932, in Mason County to the late David Gordon and Beryl Sullivan Landreth.
He was retired from Emerson Power Transmissions, was a member of the Maysville Masonic Lodge, a former volunteer at the old Tom Browning Boys Club, former referee of local high school sports, and served his country honorably in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Landreth was very active in his church, Orangeburg Christian, where he also served as an Elder, sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. An avid golfer, he lived in Florida for twelve years, where he worked at a golf course.
Among his survivors is his wife, Vivian Simms Landreth; a son, David (Connie) Landreth; grandson, Kyle (Allison) Landreth; sister, Wanda Neal: brother, James Landreth; stepchildren, Ernie (John Waggoner) McDowell, Steve (Tina) McDowell, Billy (Ellie) McDowell, Jeff (Shelia) McDowell, Brenda Barbour and Marsha Throckmorton; and three great-granddaughters.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wives, Peggy Phillips Landreth and Phyllis McDowell Landreth; brothers, Lester and Ivan Landreth; sisters, Jessie Landreth, Geneva Cobb and Juanita Hesler; and a stepson, Eddie McDowell.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday July 20, 2018, at Orangeburg Christian Church with Rev Wayne Barnett officiating and military honors provided by Maysville VFW post 2734.
Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday July 19, 2018, at the church with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m.
