RICHMOND, Va. — Patricia Dorsey Christine of Ashland, died June 27, 2018.

Born in Louisville on April 4, 1932, the daughter of Dr. Chadwick Wilson Christine and Florence Dorsey Christine, she spent most of her formative years in Maysville.

She graduated from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Afterwards she married William E. Perrine, also of Maysville.

She loved raising her children (most of the time) and worked tirelessly as a mother. Her determination to see that each daughter and son had the opportunity to develop independently and fly from the nest was successful and each child reflects some aspect of her interests in music, art, literature, nature (particularly flowers) and history. She enjoyed the process of designing, building, and decorating her much loved house on Birnamwood Drive, welcoming friends and family at any opportunity. She loved to read, maintained an extensive library, and believed in continuing education. She took full advantage of the myriad resources of Ashland Community College (now ACTC), supplemented by stints at Oxford and Cambridge and her much loved trips abroad with her daughters and friends. Although her literary tastes were quite extensive, the Bloomsbury Group was a particular interest.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brother, Chad Christine.

She is survived by her sister, Shelley Christine Morss of Concord, Mass.; and her sister-in-law, Treon McGuire Christine of Cincinnati; in addition to her four children, Lloyd (Ron), Robin (Esther), Chad (Karen) and Michal (Bud); her beloved grandchildren, William, John and Robert; and by numerous adored nieces and nephews. Much loved, her presence will be profoundly missed.

A memorial service is expected to be scheduled for a later date.

Interment will be in Williamsburg, Va. at her alma mater in a private ceremony.
