MAY’S LICK — Ben Marshall Lowe, 94, of Maysville passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.

Mr. Lowe was born in Murphysville on Aug. 19, 1923, son of the late Judge Harry and Emma Lillian Jones Lowe.

He was a retired Building and Grounds Supervisor of the Maysville Community and Technical College since 1968 and owner and operator of several rental properties in Washington.

Ben was very active in the community and was a charter member of Washington Lions Club and a member of Washington United Methodist Church. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving in World War II in the European Theatre where he received three Bronze Service Stars and a Purple Heart.

Survivors include five daughters, Julia Brooks of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Brenda Willett of Venice, Fla., Jeanie (Robert) Wallace of Flowery Branch, Ga., Connie (Dean) Toller of Maysville, Cathy (Jim) Hart of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Rob Maher, BryanMaher, Jarod Rosenthal, Andrea (Danny) Hitt, Leah Wallace, Olivia Toller, Callie (Aaron) Kitchen, Benjamin Hart and Harrison Hart; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Maher and Colton Maher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Thatcher Lowe on Nov. 28, 2016; two sisters, Louise Phillips and Lilliam Belle King; two brothers, Harvey “Hobb” Lowe and Glen “Mink” Lowe.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Washington United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Beck officiating.

Burial to follow in the Washington Baptist Cemetery with military rites conducted by Simon Kenton Post number 2734 VFW.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Memorials suggested to Washington UMC Building Fund or Hospice of Hope.
