RIPLEY, Ohio — Viola Henrietta Platt Mills DeLaney, formerly from New Richmond, Ohio, age 88.

Viola returned to God, June 11, 2018.

Born in New Richmond, Ohio, the daughter of William Mortimore and Mary Ann (Mercer) Platt.

Retired manager of KFC in Aberdeen. She loved fried chicken.

Survived by her children, Stephen, Edward (Debbie), Victoria (Jimmy), Terry, Stuart (Deirdre), Stacey, Duane, Lillian and David; step-children, Jeweline and David; brother, Richard Platt; 30 grandchildren; 40-plus great-grandchildren; five-plus great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernard Lee DeLaney; daughter, Kellie; step-children, Ginger and Dale; granddaughter, Krystal LeAnn; parents, brothers and sisters, Martina, Guy, Nadine, Mary, Ellen, Shirley, Frank, Edward and John Platt.

Her family was her lifeline whom she loved very much and were in her prayers every day. She was grateful to Jesus for giving her so many years with them.

Services 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley. Pastor Stuart Platt DeLaney officiating.

Visitation 9-10:30 a.m., prior to funeral.

Internment in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories in Plumville, followed by a lunch at Centenary United Methodist Church 112 South 2nd Street, Ripley, 1–5 p.m.
