LEXINGTON — Elizabeth Ann “Tibbie” (Malone) Bell, 88, passed away May 28, 2018, in Lexington.

Born Nov. 12, 1929, in Washington, Mason County, Mrs. Bell affectionately known as Tibbie, was the youngest child of James Ambrose and Elizabeth Foley Malone of Mason County.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wayne P. Bell of Lexington; five brothers, Gerald, James and Vincent Malone of Maysville, Thomas Malone of Ripley, Ohio, John Malone, Yellow Springs, Ohio; and one sister, Mary Jo (Pfeffer) of Maysville.

Mrs. Bell spent her formative years in Maysville. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School where she was a varsity cheerleader, performed the lead in her senior play and began her lifelong love for music, theatre, the game of basketball and everything that is Kentucky.

Employment at Vance’s Drug Store, Maysville, introduced Tibbie to Wayne P. Bell. The two were married on February 2, 1951 and moved to Cincinnati. Mr. Bell going to work for WCKY and Mrs. Bell beginning her career in banking. She later gave birth to daughters Lorna Ann and Marcia Malone.

The couple moved to Lexington in 1958, where son, Robert Joseph was born into the clan. Mrs. Bell continued her career in banking when in the mid 1960’s she landed a position in book keeping in Central Bank and Trust Company and eventually becoming a head teller. Tibbie would go on to be named the first customer service representative with Central Bank. She led the bank in sales until she retired after nearly 40 years of loyal service.

Tibbie was a woman of faith who said her Rosary daily. She believed in service to community and family and lived that throughout her life. She was passionate about Kentucky Athletics, especially men and women’s basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. But, her primary passion in life was Wayne and her children.

Mrs. Bell is survived by three children, Lorna Bell Bundy-Jones (Roderick Jones), Marcia Malone Bell (Thomas E. Bickel), Robert J. Bell (Tanya), grandchildren, Laura Bell Bundy (Thom Hinkle), Natalie Claire Postel Butcher (David), Ryan J. Postel (Emily Bonistall Postel), J. Christian Postel (Meredith), Steven D. Bell (Gabriella), Alexi Bell, Addyson Bell, Jennifer Jones Box (Charlie), Kara Jones Warner (Tommie), Rick Jones (Sarah); seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Sunday June 3, at Kerr Brothers on Harrodsburg Road.

Mass of Christian Burial 1 p.m. June 4, Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Burial Service Calvary Cemetery. Pall Bearers: Mike Malone, John Malone, Danny Pfeffer, Pete Pfeffer, Ryan J. Postel, J. Christian Postel, Steven D. Bell, Rick Jones and Daniel Wahl.

Celebration of Life Palomar Club House following burial 4-9 p.m.
