HILLSBORO, Ohio — Pamela Rae Aldredge Nickell, age 73, of Hillsboro passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Highland District Hospital.

She was born July 1, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of James Richard and Wilma Jean (Engle) Aldredge.

She earned her Master’s degree in Education Administration from Morehead State University. She was an elementary education teacher, elementary principal, high school principal, Special Programs director and was one of the first female county superintendent’s in the state of Ohio. After retiring from administration, she was an adjunct professor as well as Director of Student Placement for Wilmington College.

Pamela was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, where she was a former Trustee and Sunday School teacher.

Pamela is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bobby Nickell, whom she married on July 18, 1964, in Medway, Ohio. She is also survived by her three children, Trevon ( Carrie Coop) Nickell of New Carlisle, Ohio, Valissa (Andrew Haskins) Nickell of Burbank, Calif. and Christa Moore of Maysville; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy (Stephanie) Coop, Lacie (Tim) Yerian; Elliott (Meghan Wholihan) Coop, McKenzie Coop, Kasey Rae Moore, Austin Nickell, Chloe Haskins, Savannah Nickell, Nicholas Moore, Colin Haskins, and Noah Moore; 11 great-grandchildren, Ava, Emmett, Natalie, Nathan, Nash, Bailey, Connor, Kenton, Weston, Clayton and Maverick; four brothers, Martin Aldredge of Springfield, Ohio, Asa (June) Aldredge of New Carlisle, Lon (Connie) Aldredge of Springfield and Ken Aldredge of New Carlisle; one sister, Nancy (Roger) Warren of Urbana, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by a brother, Dr. Neil Aldredge.

Memorial services will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018, at Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Pastor Derek Russell will be officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date. In keeping with Pamela’s wishes, her body will be cremated.

Visitation will be held from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. at the church.
