MOUNT OLIVET — Ray Bruce Craig, age 74, Sebring, Fla., formerly of Mount Olivet, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the Sunnyhill Assistant Living in Sebring.

Born in Robertson County, May 5, 1943, to the late Herschel Clay and Ruth Hill Craig, he was a 1960 graduate of Deming High School and attended Berea College for one year during 1961. Then in 1962 enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was an Aircraft Electronic Navigation Equipment Technician. In 1970 he was honorably discharged as a Vietnam War veteran, Sargant ranked. Ray graduated first of his class from Van Velkin Burg Telephone Communications School. Then he worked for two and a half years for Continental Communications in Tampa, Florida, also working in Tennessee, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana and resigned in 1975. In 1979, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Morehead State University. He began working as a Warehouse Inventory Controller and in various other jobs for J.B. Delaney in 1981. Ray loved fishing, reading, playing cards, basketball and football.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Clay Craig; and a nephew, Michael Dewitt Craig.

He is survived by his wife, Janyce Clark Craig; a brother, Gerald F. (Wanda) Craig, Lexington; two sisters, Joy (Evan) Mastin, Germantown and Lisa (Mark) Sutton of Mount Olivet; and seven nieces and nephews, Wayne (Susanne) Mastin, Dale (Susan) Mastin, Cindy (Louie) Neff, Craig (Tammy) Mastin, Dana (Michael) Bowlin, Darrin (Chassica) Sutton and Karen Craig.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Robertson County Funeral Home with visitation at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Sutton, Wayne Mastin, Dale Mastin, Craig Mastin, Wade Mastin, Joey Mastin, Darrin Sutton, Louie Neff and Tyler Powell.
