MAYSVILLE — Donald Eugene Waldren, 79, of Maysville, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Mr. Waldren was a graduate of Maysville High School, a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Eagles, the Moose Lodge and the Simon Kenton VFW. He was formerly employed with Browning Manufacturing for 15 years and he retired from DP&L Stuart Station.

Donald was born in Maysville on July 12, 1938, the son of the late James H. and Dorothy Marie Gallagher Waldren.

He is survived by his son, Donald L. Waldren (Mary) of Maysville; daughters, Kelly Pollitt (Joe) of Palm Coast, Fla. and Christian Highfield (Billy B.J.) of Mount Sterling; stepsons, Roger Padgett (Karen) of Lewisburg, Terry Adams of Maysville and Gary Adams of Florence; grandchildren, Ryan Highfield, Payton Highfield, Autumn Highfield, Beverly Reed, Cody Pollitt, Joshua Lofton, Amber Shields, Darlene Gilbert, Travis and Tanner Ormes.

Besides his parents, he was preced in death by his first wife, Emma “Joan” Waldren and his second wife, Juanita Thacker Waldren; his brother, James Waldren Jr. and his stepdaughter, Sherry “Missy” Linville.

Services for Donald Waldren will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 with Rev. Paul Gray officiating.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
