FLEMINGSBURG — Danny Ray Perkins, 60, of Flemingsburg, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 25, 2018.

Danny was born in Bracken County to the late Carlie and Iona Perkins on July 29, 1957.

He was a 1975 graduate of Augusta High School. He was a veteran who served in United States Air Force from 1976 to 1979 and received a Good Conduct medal. He was employed as a driver with Schwan’s Food Service. Danny was an avid coin collector, loved to fish, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Danny leaves behind his loving wife of 16 years, Vickie Abney Perkins; two daughters, Tiffany (Jarrod) Turner of Lexington and Danielle Hendrix of Flemingsburg; three grandchildren, Karlee Hord, Josiah Turner and Chase Gibson; four sisters, Judy Perkins of Taylor Mill, Brenda (Dale) Wolfe of Augusta, Patsy Perkins of Augusta and Lori (Scot) Mcpherson of Taylor Mill; and his mother-in-law, Judy Abney. He will be greatly missed by his faithful friend, Gunner.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his son, Chad Gibson; his father-in-law, Roy Abney; and his brother-in-law, Bobby Abney.

Services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, April 28, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Jones officiating.

Danny will be laid to rest in Wedonia Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the W. N. Fant American Legion Post 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
