FLEMINGSBURG — A virtual open house for the 2020-2021 Fleming County Schools Performance Academy will be held on Thursday.

The performance academy is a free, virtual option open to all Fleming County students. It is a program designed with a unique learning experience, according to Fleming County Schools Superintendent Brian Creasman.

The program allows for students who are home-schooled to participate in the same activities as students in the traditional classroom setting, according to Creasman.

“FCPA is an innovative approach to learning that is recognized across Kentucky and other states as a model for public education,” he said. “This year, we are fully prepared to expand student enrollment in FCPA due to COVID-19 based on stakeholder feedback. If you are concerned about sending your child to a traditional school setting in the fall due to COVID-19, you are encouraged to enroll your child/children in FCPA and still continue to learn with a Fleming County teacher through a virtual learning platform.”

Creasman said the goal is to meet the learning needs of all students.
