WEST UNION, Ohio — Police are investigating a collision which took place Monday, involving two cars and a school bus, said police.

Monday afternoon at 3:06 p.m., Ronnie Hendrickson, 57, of Seaman, Ohio, collided his 2003 Cadillac DeVille into the 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo of Gerald Cromer, 78, of West Union, police said.

West Union Police Department was dispatched to the scene.

“Gerald Cromer pulled off of North Street to Cross Street and got T-boned by the Cadillac,” said Chief Tim Sanderson of the West Union Police Department.

The collision forced Cromer’s vehicle into the bus, said Sanderson. The bus was from the Adams County Ohio Valley School District, and was being driven by April Gravely, 38, of Otway, Ohio.

Sanderson reported that no injuries occurred to either driver of the vehicles, though a student on the bus was transported by West Union Life Squad to Adams County Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

“I don’t know how Gerald didn’t get killed. His car was destroyed,” said Sanderson. Sanderson reported that the impact of the collision forced Cromer’s glasses off of his head, where they ended up under the car.

After the collision occurred, traffic was detoured to Sparks and Mulberry Street.

The West Union Fire Department and West Union Life Squad were on scene for assistance.
