BROOKSVILLE — A waste tire collection event will be held Oct. 17-19 in Bracken County.

The event is free and will take place on Thursday, Oct. 17 and Friday, Oct. 18 from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Bracken County Judge-Executive Tina Teegarden.

Teegarden said the tires will be accepted at the Kentucky Department of Highways Maintenance Barn, located at 1706 Brooksville-Germantown Road in Brooksville.

Tires can be on or off the rim and can come from trucks, light trucks, passenger vehicles, lawn vehicles, tractors and bicycles.

No foam-filled tires, off road construction tires, calcium-filled tires, solid tires with/without press on rims, beads greater than 1 and three-fourths inches or rubber tires will be accepted.

No tires will be accepted before Thursday, Oct. 17, Teegarden said.

The waste tire collection is sponsored by the Kentucky Division of Waste Management in cooperation with Bracken County Solid Waste Management and Bracken County Fiscal Court.

Tires must come from Bracken County citizens and not businesses.
