MOUNT OLIVET — Aaron Massey is the new principal of Robertson County School.

Massey is a native of Robertson County. He graduated from RCS before attending Morehead State University and receiving his master’s degree from Georgetown College.

According to Massey, his first two years of teaching were at Mason County Middle School. He then began teaching at RCS, where he taught for 19 years before becoming assistant principal during the 2018-19 school year.

Massey said he chose to teach in Robertson County, because it is his home.

“I’ve been a life-long resident of Robertson County,” he said. “When the opportunity to teach and coach in Robertson County arose, I took it. I’ve been here ever since.”

Massey said during his time as principal, his priority will be the students.

“I want to keep the students safe and provide the best education possible,” he said. “I want to continue to push our academics.”

Superintendent Sanford Holbrook said Massey was chosen as principal because he is someone who cares about the students.

“Mr. Massey is a great addition to our school,” Holbrook said. “He cares about the students and community. I knew he was the right fit to push our district in the right direction. He gets out in the community and rallies support for the school and the students. He’s the best hire we could have made.”
