VANCEBURG — A Lewis County man was recently indicted by a Lewis County grand jury on charges related to sexual abuse of a minor.

Nicholas Buckler, 18, was indicted on two counts first-degree sexual abuse.

The charges are a Class C felony, according to the indictment.

According to the indictment, between the dates of Jan. 1, 2015 and Dec. 31, 2016, Buckler allegedly subjected a female minor to sexual contact by forcible compulsion.

The victim was allegedly less than 12 years of age at the time of the incidents, the indictment said.

Also indicted by the grand jury, on an unrelated charge, was Preston Scott Allen, 28, who was indicted on one count first-degree assault and one count second-degree being a persistent felony offender.

According to the indictment, on, or about, Sept. 16, 2018, Allen allegedly operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs “thereby engaging in conducted which created a grave risk of death to another.”

The indictment said Allen allegedly caused serious physical injury to Kody J. Willis.
