FLEMINGSBURG —The annual Fleming County Fair will take place from July 6-13 at a new location.
Amanda Maynard, president of the Fair Board, said the new location is at 367 New Hope Road in Hillsboro. The property was acquired in November last year and includes 20 acres.
Last year, the Fleming County Fair was held on the lawn of Fleming County Recreational Park.
A recent update to the fair’s festivities is the addition of a queen state qualifying pageant this year as well as a baby show. According to Maynard, the decision to hold a pageant was due to several request from the public and ensuring the fair board had paid its dues to the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Horse Shows.
As to how many people will turn out to the fair, Maynard said she is not sure, especially now the fair is in a newer location and further from Flemingsburg. However, now with all of the livestock shows and pageants being statewide events, she hopes to see a larger turnout.
