Kentucky Department of Highways crews will temporarily close part of Old Maysville Hill (Kentucky 2516) in Mason County overnight Thursday, Sept. 20, to make slip repairs.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, crews will close Kentucky 2516 at mile point 0.6 between Wadsworth Drive and Lexington Pike to install T-rail along the road to prevent the embankment from slipping.
Barricades will be placed on Kentucky 2516 at Wadsworth Drive and at Lexington Pike with only local traffic permitted past those points. The road will remain closed overnight, and until 3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21. If work is not completed Friday, the road will reopen for the weekend but will be closed again during daytime hours next Monday, Sept. 24.
During the road closure, motorists may reroute using U.S. 62 through downtown Maysville.
Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
