Fleming county man charged with assault

FLEMINGSBURG – A Fleming county man was charge with fourth-degree domestic violence assault in an indictment handed down Friday.

According to the indictment, on June 22, 2018, Jesse Joe James 23, assaulted a female by shoving and kicking her. According to officials, Deputy Justin Conley responded to the call and met with the victim at a location on James Road. As he was exchanging details with the victim, James passed by as a passenger in a car. Sheriff Gary Kinder set up a traffic stop and detained James for the investigation of the assault.

James was also charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Other indictments included:

— Robert Randall Ward Jr., 37, first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

— Michael W. Shrout, 49, possession of marijuana.

— Victoria Lynn Kresich, 49, theft by unlawful taking more than $500.00 but less than $10,000.00 when she allegedly shoplifted a Coach purse worth $277 and an iPhone 6s belonging to another female. She was also charged for allegedly tampering with physical evidence when she discarded a Coach purse, credit cards, and identification cards belonging to the victim.

— Rickie Lee Anderson, 58, cultivation of marijuana less than five plants after he allegedly planted, cultivated, or harvested two marijuana plants with the intent to sell or transfer it. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Peggy Anderson, 57, cultivation of marijuana less than five plants after she allegedly cultivated, or harvested two marijuana plants with the intent to sell or transfer it. She was also charged with possession of marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Joseph Scott Eldridge, 34, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substance, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (heroin), first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and tampering with physical evidence.

— Anthony Case, 24, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana.

— Jimmy Dean Barker, 41, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle with only one headlight, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

— Jessica Dawn Martinat, 43, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a minor, tampering with physical evidence.

— Derek M. Finch, 29, driving under the influence of intoxication substances, fourth or greater offense within a 10-year period.

— Clinton Bryon Belcher, 46, trafficking in marijuana, more than eight ounces but less than five pounds, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
