Standing room only was available Saturday for those wanting to purchase pieces of history from the old Aberdeen School. The auction was held inside a building behind the school due to poor conditions of the school building. Each item auctioned was projected onto a screen by a Aberdeen police officer. Old school desks, lockers, chalkboards, clocks, wooden boxes, and even ballot boxes were sold. The school was built in the 1930’s and served not only as a school, but as a community events center and a place to cast your votes during elections. The building is slated for demolition.
