‘Rosie the Riveter’ 0f World War II fame stopped by the Ripley Public Library Sunday to present highlights of her life. Rosie, portrayed by Kelly O’Connell Brengelman, filled in as an employee at Willow Run Bomber factory in Michigan for those men who left to fight for their country during the war. She is shown with a rivet gun used to work on B-24 bombers. Rose Leigh was born in Science Hill, Kentucky in 1920 and died in 1997. The Chautauqua is part of the Kentucky Humanities series. Following the presentation, an ice cream social was held.
