Several people have filed for city positions through the five-county Buffalo Trace area for the November 2018 general election.

In Mason County, David Cartmell, incumbent, and Charles T. Cotteral have filed for mayor.

For Maysville City Commission, Jerry Schumacher, Kelly Ashley and Victor C. McKay, all incumbents, and Jeff Brammer have filed for four positions.

In Fleming County, Marty Voiers, incumbent, has filed for reelection as mayor of Flemingsburg.

For Flemingsburg City Council, Meredith Story and Van David Alexander, both incumbents, along Blake Harmon, Duane Scott Manning, Randy Sergent and Angela Christman Graham have filed.

In Bracken County, Barry Bratton, Phillip Porter Habermehl and Michael Taylor have all filed for Augusta mayor.

For Bracken County School Board, incumbent Andy Reynolds has filed.

In Lewis County, John Grabill and Dana Blankenship have filed for mayor of Vanceburg.

Todd Sartin has filed for Lewis County School Board.

In Robertson County, Stanley Henderson, incumbent, and Douglas Edward Wright have filed for mayor of Mount Olivet.

In order to register as a candidate, several requirements must be met, officials said.

The requirements for mayor include being at least 21 years old, being a resident of the city for no less than one year prior to election and residing in the city throughout the term. The requirements for city council/commission members include residing within the city for no less than one year prior to election and residing in the city throughout the term.

The deadline to file is Aug. 14. The general election will be Nov. 6.
