Applications are being accepted for Leadership Horizons 2018-19 class.
The Leadership Horizions class takes place on the second Thursday of each month from September 2018-April 2019 with a graduation in May.
Leadership Horizons President Melissa Greenwell said the program is designed to allow partipants the opportunity to network and grow connections in their personal and business lives.
“The program provices and opportunity to network and develop contacts that can assist both personally and professionally,” she said. “It is geared toward the local communities throughout the region.”
Greenwell said the deadline to apply for the program is Aug. 1 with the first class beginning on Sept. 13.
“Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by mid-August,” she said.
The class schedule includes orientation and skill building, tourism and recreation, education, media, health and human services, state government and a trip to Frankfort, economic development and agri-business, law and justice and graduation on May 9, 2019.
Those attending are expected to attend all monthly sessions. If more than two sessions are missed, the participant will be asked to withdraw from the program.
The application asks for participants to tell what they are involved with in the community, what they believe is a significant challenge for the community/region and what recommendations the participant would have to correct the challenges, what qualifies them to participate in the program, what they hope to gain from it and what they would plan to do with their knowledge gained from the program.
The tuition for the program is $275, which covers costs, including transportation, meals and materials. Payment must be made before the first session.
According to the application, many employers will reimburse and encourage employees to participate, however.
Those interested in applying for the program, can print an application from the Maysville-Mason County Chamber of Commerce’s website or Facebook page, according to Greenwell.
Applications must be returned to Leadership Horizons, 201 East Third Street, Maysville, KY 41056.
