WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash which claimed the life of two people. The crash occurred June 19 at approximately 1:45 p.m., on U.S. 52 just east of the village of Neville, Ohio
Police said preliminary investigation shows a 2008 Mazda 3, operated by Miranda A. Cracraft, 19, of Fayetteville, Ohio, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 52 along with her passenger, Carson B. Hall, 24, of Georgetown, Ohio.
A 2008 Freightliner, operated by Troy A. Brown, 49, of Chesapeake, Ohio, was traveling westbound on U.S. 52, police said. The Mazda, driven by Cracraft drove off of the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway, and traveled left of center where it was struck. The impact caused extensive damage to the involved vehicles.
Cracraft and her passenger, Hall were both pronounced dead at the scene. Brown was transported by Washington Township EMS to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Safety belts were in use at the time of the crash, police said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Batavia post of the OSHP.
