VANCEBURG—The Lewis County Justice Center will be undergoing a schedule change starting Wednesday, May 2 to extend operating hours on Wednesdays and in turn closing the facility on Saturdays.
This change is brought upon due to Judge Robert Conley desire to free up weekends by moving Circuit Court Motion Hours to the first and third Wednesdays of each month instead of usual Fridays. Originally, the justice center opens for half a day on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but will soon change in the upcoming week.
A notice for the new hours provided by Circuit Clerk Kathy Hardy says the facility now operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The courthouse schedule remains unchanged. Hardy said the schedule change is permanent for the foreseeable future.
For any additional information regarding the schedule change, call the circuit clerk’s office at 606-796-3053.
