St. Patrick Fall Festival – Fun for young and old

Where can you enjoy a great meal, listen to live music, play games, exercise by running a 5K, shop for delicious treats, cakes, and theme baskets plus possibly walk away with $10,000 this weekend? All of the food, fun, music, and money can be found at the annual St. Patrick Fall Festival which will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 and Saturday, Sept.8 from 6-11 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. St. Patrick Church and School are located at the intersection of Third Street and Limestone.

Angie Brant, finance and development director, shared the following about the Fall Festival profits, “All donations and monies raised for the event will be given directly to the school to help with operational and educational expenses.”

Patrons may choose between a Mexican or American Pub Fish Fry dinner on Friday evening. Saturday’s attendees will enjoy a Pig Roast with all the trimmings. On Sunday, those attending can choose between a Fried Chicken or Country Ham dinner with tasty desserts from the parish’s many bakers. If you are looking for lighter fare, there are Pub-style offerings such as pizza, burgers, and Coach Moore’s famous wings at the Outdoor Food Booth.

Musical acts include D.J. Megawatt on Friday, Sept. 7, Inside Out, a Bracken County country rock band, on Saturday, Sept. 8, and Josh Wilhoit, singer from Bracken County who plays a variety of music that is described as acoustic/pop/indie.

Young and old have a variety of options for fun from Bounce Houses, Kiddie Games, Combo Raffle, and Adult Games of Chance. If you like to shop, you can purchase Spirit Wear, Sweets, and delicious Carnival food. Sunday also includes a Cake Contest and Auction at Noon, Mini-Auction at 12:30 p.m. and the drawing for the $10,000 at 3 p.m. The second graders in Mrs. Parker’s classroom recommend the Bounce Houses, desserts, and the kiddie games.
