The Ohio River Valley Artists Guild is please to offer an advanced watercolor portrait workshop by Claudia Castle. The two-day workshop will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 9, from 1 until 5 – 6 p.m., at the Cox Building, in downtown Maysville.

Space is limited. This promises to be an exciting and informative two days, allowing you to better understand the complexity and nuance of watercolor painting in creating a portrait..

Claudia Castle was born in Bogota, Columbia. After earning a degree in bilingual business administration, she started her career in design through her family’s clothing manufacturing business. There she had the opportunity to design her own clothing line and retail shop. This opportunity let her express her creativity and gain self-confidence as an artist through the entrepreneurial opportunity. Continuing education was important to her. She earned her bachelor of university studies from Morehead State University and finished her master’s degree in fine arts in 2017.

Claudia’s current goals include exploring deeper the art of painting using a variety of classic techniques in oil, watercolor, egg tempera, and pastels, as well as mastering the complicated techniques of printmaking.

Castle’s portraits speak for themselves. She is a master of watercolor portraiture. They are soft, captivating, and beautiful. In her background, she combines the elements of a landscape inviting you into the eyes of her subject. Absolutely gorgeous.

Space is limited for the workshop. For more information about the workshop, including cost, please email Dee Werline at [email protected] .
