“This is a terrific show for the entire family,” said Mike Thomas, producing director of the local theatre company. “As in the past, we have managed to gather a tremendously talented troupe of your performers from across the region.”

With music by Zina Goldrich and book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler, “Dear Edwina (Jr.) is an hour-long musical in which 13-year-old Edwina Spoonapple (played by Emily Evans of Bracken County) recruits her neighborhood friends to produce a television talk-show every Sunday afternoon live from her garage in Paw Paw, Mich.

Through a series of scenes in song and dance, Edwina delivers advice on how to solve a variety of problems from how to set a table, to getting along with brothers and sisters, and how to also put a penny in the piggy bank.

“The script and score are delightful,” Thomas said. “Each song has a different style ranging from operatic to country. This cast is loaded with terrific singers.”

Thomas directs the musical and is assisted by Mark Funk as music director and Barbie Zweigart as choreographer. Mike Lewis is the set designer. Lighting is by Aaron Burns of Northern Kentucky University.

Twenty-four cast members are featured and Thomas notes that travel from Bracken, Fleming, Lewis, Brown, Mason, and Adams counties to participate.

“We are blessed to have their talents,” he said. “And, I have to admit, they are blessed to be working in a professional environment that provides great training.”

The cast includes Isabella Gilvin, Sarah Gerhard, Gavin Hitch, Joseph Hazlett, Collin Jarrell, Hunter Jordan, Saddie Haynes, Tessa Haynes, Kendall Hitchcock, Baylee Hunt, Kahdyn Kimball, Ethan Klee, Sydney Liley, Brady Marshall, Makenlee Norris, Serenity Owens, Olivia Plum, Jaxson Plum, Cierra Poe, Riley Verdin, Jenna Wallingford, and Kendall Ward.
