DVD features Royals' championship run

The Mason County Royals, the 2008 Kentucky boys state champions, now have a DVD highlighting their run to the title in Rupp Arena.

The DVD is more than an hour in length and was created by First String Media in Lexington. It includes 2007-08 season highlights, as well as district, regional and state tournament footage.

It also includes player and coach interviews, scenes from Maysville, and concludes with a "One Shining Moment" tribute to the state champions.

The DVD is available at the school office for $20.

Buffalo Trails races set for May 24

The Buffalo Trails Multi-Sport Races will be held in downtown Maysville on Saturday, May 24.

The three races begin with the 8th Annual Buffalo Trails Duathlon and 4th Annual Buffalo Trails Triathlon at 8 a.m., followed by the Buffalo Trails 5K at 8:30.


The triathlon consists of a half-mile swim, 22-mile bike and 3.05-mile run. The duathlon features a 3.05-mile run, 22-mile bike and another 3.05-mile run. The swim course is in the Ohio River while the running course goes through the east end of downtown and the riverfront, while the bike course begins in downtown and follows the "Big Hiney Hill" into the countryside.

Weekend festivities kick off with a street party on Friday, May 23, at 6 p.m., featuring live music from the Legends, beginning at 7.
